Our mission
To give pet owners peace of mind while they're away, and to create meaningful, flexible opportunities for responsible sitters within local communities.
About us
About Vacay Sitters
Vacay Sitters is a South African pet-care platform that connects pet owners with local pet sitters who care for pets in their owners' homes. We're based in the Western Cape and currently serve Cape Town and surrounding areas.
The problem we're solving
Finding someone you trust to look after your pets, and your home, isn't easy. Pet care is often arranged through word of mouth, social media groups or a friend of a friend. When a sitter cancels shortly before a trip, finding a replacement can be stressful.
Our founders experienced exactly this before starting Vacay Sitters in 2024. We set out to make finding a pet sitter simpler and more dependable, with sitter profiles, reviews, messaging and booking in one app.
What we do
- Sitter profiles with introduction videos and reviews from other pet owners
- Every sitter application reviewed by our team before approval (how sitters join)
- Booking, payment and messaging in the Vacay Sitters app
- Check-ins, check-outs and photo updates during your booking
How the platform works
Vacay Sitters is a technology platform. Sitters are independent service providers, not employees of Vacay Sitters, and each booking is an agreement between the pet owner and the sitter. Our Terms & Conditions explain how this works.
Our mission and vision
Our vision
A world where every pet receives loving, dependable care in familiar surroundings, and every sitter is supported, trusted, and valued.
